LSLRHA provides 79 Family Housing Units total; 77 within the town of Slave Lake, AB, and 2 located in the hamlet of Smith, AB.

Tenants are required to submit an application and will be placed on a waiting list until an appropriate unit is available. Water, heat, sewer and waste removal are included in the rent. Tenants are charged for electricity.

How to Apply

You must complete a standard application form. Please choose one of the following options:

Basic Rent

Tenants are required to pay 30% of their gross total combined income. Rent ranges from $134 to market rates. Rent includes water, heat, sewer and waste removal services. Tenants are responsible for paying for electricity, telephone, cable/satellite.

Please note that LSLRHA reviews household incomes and circumstances annually to determine tenants' continued eligibility and rates for rent for the subsequent year. Tenants are responsible for letting us know when income and other circumstances change, at any time during the year.

Rent Assistance

RENT ASSISTANCE BENEFIT (RAB)

People who qualify for this provincially subsidized program receive a monthly rental subsidy which is to be used to help pay rent. Those who qualify must pay 30% of their income to their monthly rent, and the supplement program pays the balance of the rent that's owing (as long as it doesn't exceed the $500 subsidy maximum). An application form for the Rent Assistance Benefit may be picked up in person at the LSLRHA office located at 617 5th Ave, NW, Slave Lake, AB.

Please note, tenants are responsible for paying their rent and utilities. You must also provide proof of rent payment each month, and LSLRHA will review household incomes annually to determine continued eligibility.

Heritage Village Apartments

34 suite apartments in 2 buildings that offer the following:

  • 14 units for income of $24,000 and under
  • 20 units for income $24,000 - $45,000
  • Some units are available for rent subsidies
